Biography Picture     Outside of the Albion Band, Hutchings has been a frequent guest on the albums of a wide variety of folk artists. He has also continued to pursue a diversity of projects, some alone and some with groupings of more or less stability and continuity.

Initially a bunch of mates brought together by Ashley Hutchings to record an album of traditional English Morris dance music in a contemporary folk-rock style. The 1972 album Morris On led to a series of offspring albums, with the first, Son of Morris On released in 1972, and thirty years later with Grandson of Morris On in 2002, and Great Grandson of Morris On in 2004. Each album was recorded by different line-ups of musicians.

Line-ups changed every time the band re-formed, the only consistent member being the Guv'nor Ashley Hutchings. The long list of former band members (which excludes numerous guest artists and the Morris sides who danced and played on some tracks) reads like a who's who of British folk-rock.
